Men Win Battle in the OC

FULLERTON, CALIF. –  Adam Leiva threw a new lifetime best of 16.21m (53'2.25") in the men's shot put to finish third overall and move up to number six on the Titans All-Time list, tied with Corey Gilbert's toss from 2018 at the Steve Scott Invitational. Evalen Garcia threw a new lifetime best of 14.19m (46'6.75") in the women's shot put to finish second overall. Garcia's throw becomes the second-best throw in Titan history and moves her up to number three in the Big West Conference Standings.

Joshua Tan won the men's hammer throw with a toss of 58.01m (190'4"). Tan's throw moves him up to number four on the Titans All-Time list and ninth in the Big West Conference standings. William Dower won the men's long jump with a leap of 7.04m (23'1.25"). Andrew Aguilar would finish third after a jump of 6.41m (21'0.50"). Over in the women's long jump, Sela Pastrana set a new personal best of 5.34m (17'6.25") to finish second in the event while London Lee jumped a new personal best of 4.84m to finish fifth.

Ernesto Collazo won the men's pole vault with one jump clearing 4.81m (15'9.25"). Isabelle Carreon won the women's pole vault after clearing 3.66m (12'0"). Ashley Harritt (3.51m) and Dylan Beveridge (3.51m) finished second and third to complete the sweep in the event for the Titans. 

Nicholas Hvidsten took second in the men's javelin after a toss of 54.68m to move him up to number eight on the Titans All-Time list and seventh in the Big West Conference.

Dana McGrath ran a new lifetime best of 4:38.65 to win the women's 1500m and moved up to number five on the Titans All-Time list. Kynnedi McCall ran 56.43 to win the women's 400m dash while teammate Lauren Delgadillo crossed the line in 58.69 to finish second. Stefana Purkovic ran 2:13.57 to win the women's 800m run and moves to number six on the Titans All-Time list and 14th in the Big West Conference.

Nathyn Scruggs led the way for the Titans sweep of the men's 100m dash after crossing the line in a wind legal time of 10.66 (+0.3). Scruggs' time moves him up to number six in the Big West Conference standings, just in front of teammate Rasaun House (10.67) who tied his season's best to finish second in the event. Amir'a Edmond (12.05) and Rayann Booker (12.07) ran toe to toe in the women's 100m dash as Edmond out leaned Booker for the win. Edmond would come back to run another lifetime best in the women's 200m after crossing the line in a time of 25.33 (0.9) to win the event.

Justin Lowe ran a new lifetime best of 21.24 (+0.4) in the men's 200m dash to win the event. Lowe's time places him second in the Big West Conference behind fellow Titan Alonzo Floriolli and moves him to number nine on the Titans All-Time list. Matt Cohen ran a new lifetime best of 14.49 in the men's 110H to finish second and move up to number seven in the Big West Conference standings, surpassing teammate Reyte Rash by 0.01 seconds.

The Titans will be back in action next Friday and Saturday April 29th – 30th, as the team is split between the Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, Calif. and the Fresno State Invite in Clovis, Calif.
