Several Titans PR As Men Win Elite Relay

WALNUT, CALIF. –  Several Titans PR as the Men's 4x400 relay team made up of Parris Samaniego, Chris Shiley, Alonzo Floriolli, and Justin Lowe ran 3:07.94 to win their section of the 1600m Relay Elite and finish sixth overall. The men's 4x100m relay team made up Parris Samaniego, Cooper Bibbs, Naythn Scruggs, and Alonzo Floriolli, won heat two of the elite lineup after running 40.15 to improve on their Big West Conference leading time. Bibbs ran a new wind assisted lifetime best of 10.23 (+3.5) in the men's 100m dash to finish second in his section. Cooper improves on his Big West Conference leading time by .11 seconds. Teammate Alonzo Floriolli ran a new lifetime best as well in the 100m dash after posting a time of 10.33 to finish third in his section. Justin Lowe ran 47.01 in the men's 400m dash to win his heat, and would later come back to split a 45.7 on the anchor leg of the Titans 4x400m relay team to win their section. Floriolli would came back later in the day to run a wind legal 20.94 (+1.8) to set a new lifetime best in the men's 200m and move up to number three on the Titan All-Time list.

Senior Charles Kelly ran 14.20 (-0.7) to finish fifth in his section of the men's 110H, while teammate Matt Cohen ran 14.71 in the men's 110H to finish sixth in his section. Cohen would come back later in the day to run 52.74 in the men's 400H and win his section in a dominating fashion. Over in the field events, Christian Wood jumped a new lifetime best in the men's long jump after a leap of 7.62m (25'00").

Maya Occiano set a new personal best in the Women's 400H after running a time of 59.77 to win her heat. Occiano has become the first student athlete to go sub-sixty in the Big West Conference thus far. Rayann Booker ran a new personal best in the women's 100m dash after crossing the line at 12.18 (-0.7). Hailey Murdica ran 12.34 in the women's 100m dash.

Over at the Bryan Clay Invitational, several Titans ran new personal best in the 1500m race. Stefana Purkovic ran 4:35.75 to set a new lifetime best. Laura Velasco ran a new personal best by over three seconds after finishing with a time of 4:42.85. On the men's side, Jake Smith ran a new lifetime best of 3:48.94 while Vicente Huerta ran a new lifetime best of 3:50.38 to move up to number three and four on the Titans All-Time list. John Welch posted a 3:53.28 to finish third in his heat and moves to number nine on the Titans All-Time list.

Titans will be back in action next week as they are set to host the Battle in the OC meet held at Titans Track & Field in Fullerton, Calif. and honor their seniors.
