AZUSA, CALIF. –  Four Titans set new school records between day two of the Bryan Clay Invitational and day one of the Mt. SAC Relays. The record-breaking day started off with Sophomore Andrew Aguilar winning Group C of the Men's Decathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational with 6,714 points. Aguilar's score broke a 22-year-old record previously held by Brandon Campbell by 77 points.

A few moments later, Sophomore Alexis Garcia runs a new lifetime best of 14:03.99 to set a new school record in the men's 5000m, previously held by Jordan Horn set in 2007. Garcia's time moves him up to number four on the Big West Conference performance list and 33rd in the West Region this season.

Senior Trinity Ruelas ran a new lifetime best of 16:01.16 in the women's 5000m to win section two of the women's invite and best her own school record by ten seconds. This becomes the second consecutive race this season Ruelas improves on her school record. Ruelas' time places her third in the West Region and 22nd in the Nation.

Later in the evening at the Mt. SAC Relays, Alyssa Block destroyed the women's 10K record previously held by Grace Gonzales set in 2008, by over 30 seconds after running 34:29.77 to finish 14th overall. Block's time moves her up to number five on the Big West Conference performance list and ninth in the West Region. Teammate McKaylie Caesar also ran a new lifetime best of 34:23.38 to finish 15th overall and run the number two All-Time.

Jeremiah Castellano ran 1:50.86 to finish third in his section of the men's 800m at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Castellano's time places him number two on the All-Time list after finishing 0.17 seconds off the school record and moves up to number four in the Big West Conference.

"It's that time of year when people start rounding into shape. You see high levels of competition and as we train through the early seasons stepping into more of a midseason form heading into conference, people are starting to taper off well. We know training is working based on these performances we've seen today. We have a great staff and shout out to Coach Tebbe for executing with distance…All these PR's and all the kids buying in is great to see. I think we have a great team culture and cannot wait for these later meets, and the higher the competition, the higher level we compete at. I am excited for what's a head of us for the future." – Head Coach Barosso

The Titans continue their competition tomorrow split between the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa Calif. and the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. You can follow the live results at Finished Results and watch live on FloTrack.
