Floriolli, Scruggs, and Brown Bring Home Event Wins

LONG BEACH, CALIF. – Alonzo Floriolli runs 21.17 (-0.3) to win the men's 200m and move up to number six on the Titans All-Time list. Naythn Scruggs ran a new personal best to win the men's 100m dash with a wind legal time of 10.69 (+0.8). Scruggs' time now has him tied for fifth on the Big West Conference performance list. John Welch ran 3:58.93, just wo seconds off his personal best, to finish seventh overall in the men's 1500m. Charles Kelly ran 14.45 (+1.7) to finish third overall while Matt Cohen clocked in at 14.93 (+1.7) to finish sixth overall in the men's 110H. Cohen would later finish second overall in the men's 400m-hurdles after running 54.35. William Dower jumped 7.18m to finish third overall in the men's long jump. Adam Leiva threw a new personal best in the men's shot put to finish fourth overall and places himself number nine on the Titans All-Time list.

In the women's 200m dash, Rayann Booker (24.79), Deja Allain (24.93), and Hailey Murdica (25.25) finish two-three-four after running in a headwind. Over in the women's 3000m, the Titans go one and three as Amy Brown won the event with a time of 10:36.20 and Emily Olson crossing the line with a time of 10:56.28. Stefana Purkovic led the way for the Titans in the women's 1500m after running 4:40.74 to finish second overall. Purkovic was able to negative split each of her laps and cover her last 400-meters in 74.32 seconds. Right behind her was Maria Hernandez who ran 4:41.28 to finish fourth overall.

Freshman Amira Hawkins ran a new personal best of 14.14 (+1.0) in the women's 100mH to finish in third-place overall and land herself in the number six spot on the Titans All-Time list. Hawkins remains the fifth fastest in the Big West Conference performance list this season. Meanwhile Madison Moku finished second in the women's 400H with a time of 1:03.27.

One race, two PR's, and three top five finishes in the women's 100m dash as Rayann Booker ran 11.90 (1.1) to finish second, Hailey Murdica goes 12.00 (1.1) to take third and Amir'a Edmond 12.13 (1.1) to round out the fourth spot. Booker and Edmond ran new personal best in the event while Murdica (9th) and Booker (7th) are the only active Titans to have times on the Titans All-Time list in the women's 100m.

The women's 4x100 relay team ran 46.57 to finish second overall to open up the day of competition. The team made up of Kirstin Light, Rayann Booker, Amir'a Edmond, and Hailey Murdica ran 0.01 seconds off their season's best. 

The Titans will be split next week as they set to compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational held at Azusa Pacific and the Mt. SAC Relays "Where The World's Best Athletes Compete" in Walnut, Calif.
