Ruelas Runs New School Record To Lead The West

PALO ALTO, CALIF. – Senior Trinity Ruelas ran a new personal best in the women's 5000m on day one of the Stanford Invitational to win her section and set a new school record by over 15 seconds. Ruelas' time moves her to number one in the Big West Conference standings, number one in the West Region, and number seventeen in the Nation. McKaylie Caesar ran a new personal best by over 13 seconds and moves up to number four on the Titans All-Time list after finishing fourth in her heat with a time of 16:36.53. Caesar's time sits just behind current teammate Alyssa Block who has run a best of 16:30.91.

Maya Occiano won the women's 400m hurdles Invite with a time of 1:01.31. Occiano's time moves her up to number two in the Big West, just behind Zeinab Torabi of UC San Diego whose run 1:01.19 this season.

Justin Lowe ran 47.20 to win the men's 400m dash and move up to number two in the Big West Conference standings. Senior Charles Kelly runs 14.41 (+0.5) in the men's 110mH to finish third overall. Matt Cohen ran a new personal best in the men's 400m hurdles to finish second overall. Cohen's time of 52.62 moves him to number eight on the Titans All-Time list. Alonzo Floriolli finished third overall in the men's 100m dash with a time of 10.47 (+0.6). Senior Charles Kelly finished second overall in the men's 110H. Christian Wood jumps a new personal best in the men's long jump after winning the event with a leap of 7.59m (24'11").

Across the Bay at the University of San Francisco Distance Invitational, Alexis Garcia ran 14:16.29 to win his section of the men's 5000m. Garcia's time moves him to number five in the Big West Conference standings and number three on the Titans All-Time list.

The Titans will be back in action tomorrow as day two of the Stanford Invitational continues at 10:00AM PST.
