Titans Sweep 400mH at UCLA

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – Titans sweep the men's 400-meter hurdles at the Rafer Johnson / Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational in Los Angeles California. Led by Senior Charles Kelly who ran 51.71, only 0.48 seconds off his lifetime best, would go on to win the event after edging out teammate Reyte Rash who finished second after running 51.72. Rounding out the third place slot was Matt Cohen who finished in a time of 53.01.

In the men's 800m run, Jeremiah Castellano ran a new lifetime best of 1:52.23 to finish fifth overall. Castellano's time now places him fifth in the Big West Conference Standings and seventh on the All-Time list at Cal State Fullerton. It was Justin Lowe who came back with a vengeance in the last 200-meters of the men's 400m dash to win it with a time of 47.15. Lowe would edge out Matthew Okonkwo of UC Davis by two one-hundredth of a second after finishing third to Okonkwo in the 2021 Big West Conference Championships. Lowe would go onto to finish third overall in the men's 200m dash with a time of 21.56 (0 m/s). Alonzo Floriolli ran 21.38 (+1.8) in the men's 200m to finish second overall and move up to number one spot in the Big West Conference Standings.

On the women's side, Kynnedi McCall ran 54.76 to win the women's open 400m dash. Alero Soaris finished fourth overall after crossing the line with a time of 56.63. Freshman Rayann Booker clocked in at 24.81 in the women's 200m dash to finish fourth overall and move up to number five on the Big West Conference standings.

Olivia Ruiz ran a new lifetime best in the women's 800m after running 2:13.48 to finish fifth overall. Ruiz bested her previous personal record by over five seconds and moves up to number five on the Cal State Fullerton All-Time list.
