Poole Wins High Jump, Kelly Breaks Own Record

FULLERTON, CALIF. – Day two of the Ben Brown Invite brought out the best of the best in the men's 110mH. As Charles Kelly bested his own school record by sixth tenths of second after running a wind legal 14.04 to finish second overall. Reyte Rash runs new personal best time of 14.50 to secure a fifth-place overall finish and Matt Cohen was close behind with a time of 14.64.

Mariah Stewart (14.28) and Amira Hawkins (14.39) finish first and second overall in the women's 100m hurdles. Both times are new seasons best for the Titans. Madison Moku rounded out the fifth spot with a time of 14.96 (+1.2m/s).

Alonzo Floriolli runs 48.25 to open-up his outdoor season as a Titan and win the men's 400m dash. Floriolli's time now leads the Big West Conference by nearly half a second. On the women's side, Maya Occiano (56.18) and Kynnedi McCall (56.38) finish second and third in the women's 400m dash. Occiano and McCall now have the time second and third fastest times in the Big West Conference this season.

Rayann Booker opened up her outdoor season with a second-place overall finish in the women's 100m dash. Booker's time sits as the second fastest time in the Big West Conference behind Arianna Alexander of Cal St. Northridge.

Justin Lowe runs 21.45 (+1.9m/s) in the men's 200m dash to finish third overall and moves into the number two slot of the Big West standings. Parris Samaniego (21.77) and Chris Shiley (21.80) finish fifth and sixth respectively and move into the top ten of the Big West men's 200m standings. Lauren Delgadillo runs 25.03 in the women's 200m to finish fourth overall.

In the field events, William Dower jumps 6.83m (22'5") in the men's long jump to finish fourth overall. Sela Pastrana jumps 5.24m (17'2.25") to finish third overall in the women's long jump. Shallamar Poole wins the men's high jump to open up his 2022 outdoor season after clearing 2.05m (6'8.75"). Teammate Willard (Jeff) Morris finished fifth after clearing 1.95m (6'4.75"). Sean Ayale jumps a new season's best of 13.39m (43'11.25") in the men's triple jump to finish fourth overall. Evalen Garcia throws 45'1.5" in the women's shotput to finish fifth overall and moves into the number three spot in the conference standings.

The men's 4x400 relay team, consisted of Reyte Rash, Parris Samaniego, Chris Shiley, and Justin Lowe, ran away from the field as they ran 3:09.24 to set a new meet record and win. The Titans will be back in action at the USC Trojan Invite on March 18-19 in Los Angeles Calif.
