College Station, Texas - The NCAA Track and Field West Preliminaries resumed on Thursday on the campus of Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. Wednesday and Friday are the men's days of competition while the women compete on Thursday and Saturday. The Cal State Fullerton women's track and field team had three student-athletes compete on Thursday and Samantha Huerta was the lone Titan to advance.
Huerta clocked a season-best time of 2:04.94 in the 800-meter race to take third place in heat. As a result of her third-place finish, she automatically qualified for the quarterfinal of the 800m on Saturday at 5:35 p.m. PT.
Trinity Ruelas clocked a time of 4:32.63 in the 1,500-meter race. She did not advance to the quarterfinal round as she took 41st place.
Naiah Boardingham competed in the long jump and posted a wind-aided mark of 20-9 (6.32m, +4.1 wind) to take 17th place.
