FULLERTON, Calif. – Day One of the 2021 Ben Brown Invitational is officially in the books.

McKaylie Caesar opens up her freshman season with her first collegiate win in the Women's 1500m with a time of 4:43.08 making it an automatic personal best. In the Women's 5000m, Trinity Ruelas and Alyssa Block will finish one and two. Ruelas with a time of 16:41.12 and Block with a time of 16:47.30. 

In the field events, Erika Flaherty took second in the women's pole vault clearing 3.46m (11'4.25"). Kyliegh Wilkerson takes second in the women's shot put with a throw of 13.13m (43'1"). Sinai Fatafehi finishes third in the women's hammer with a throw of 50.98 (167'3")

On the Men's side, Sam Ayala and Sam Pimentel both run big PRs in the mens 5000m. Ayala finishes fourth with a time of 14:15.86, placing him second on the Titans All-Time list. Pimental would finish fifth with a time of 14:23.92, a twenty-five second improvement from his previous best. Justin larson opened up his season with a second place finish and nearly besting his PR in the men's 800m with a time of 1:54.26.

In the field events for the men, (Jr) Davis Yasuda finishes second in the men's javelin with a throw of 58.96m (193'5"). Ernesto Collazo takes third in the men's pole vault clearing 4.78m (15'8.25")

Day two of the Ben Brown Invitational will continue tomorrow March 13th with the remaining field events taking place at 11AM PST and running events at 2PM PST at the Titan Track & Field Complex.

As a reminder, all spring athletic events will be held with no spectators.
