Ran on the distance medley relay team at the UW Invitational where the quartet clocked a time of 11:52.63 ... ran on the DMR at the MPSF Championships where they took 11th place with a time of 11:41.31 ... ran the mile in 4:59.18 to take 26th place in the MPSF Championships.
CROSS COUNTRY SENIOR (2019)
Competed in four meets… finished 87th at the Mark Covert Classic, running the 5K in 20:20.3… ran the 3.11M at the Masters University Invitational and finished 66th with a time of 19:12.4… placed 54th at the Highlander Invitational, running the 6K in 22:37.0… ran the 5K at the Titan Invite in 19:17.8 which was good for 15th place.
OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2019)
Opened up at the RCC Invitational with times of 2:27.90 (800 meters) and 4:50.59 (1,500 meters), taking fourth place in both races ... Ran the 5K in 19:18.33 at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival ... Clocked a 1,500-meter time of 4:52.24 at the Beach Invitational.

Competed in five races for the Titans during the season…Clocked a 5K time of 18:44.6 at the Mark Covert Classic placing 8th among CSF runners…Placed fifth among the Titans and 10th overall at the UCSB Lagoon with a 5K time of 17:37.59…Fifth Titan to finish at the Roy Griak Invitational with a 6,000 meter time of 23:07.1.

Opened up the season at the Ben Brown Invite with a time of 17:54.40 in the 5K ... Clocked a season-best time of 4:50.37 in the 1,500-meter race at Bob Larsen Distance Carnival ... Ran at the Mt. SAC Relays and posted a time of 4:51.76 in the 1,500 meters.

Competed in the DMR at Husky Classic where the team clocked a time of 12:28.84.
CROSS COUNTRY SOPHOMORE (2016)
Competed in five events for the Titans ... Took 30th place in the USD Invite 6K with a time of 24:24 while the team won the competition ... Posted a time of 22:39.5 in the 6K at the West Region Preview ... Helped the squad to a second-place finish in the Highlander Invitational as she clocked a time of 18:32.82 in the 5K that was good for 27th place ... Clocked a time of 24:55.8 in the 6K at the Big West Championships.
OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD FRESHMAN (2016)
Competed in four events over the season…ran the 5,000 meters twice, recording a time of 15:18.60 to place 17th at the Ben Brown Invitational and a time of 15:41.01 finish to place ninth at the CSF Five-Way Meet…also placed ninth in the 3,000 meters at the USC Trojan Invitation with a time of 8:55.91…competed in the 10,000 meters at the Big West Championships and placed 14th with a 32:43.45 finish.
INDOOR TRACK & FIELD FRESHMAN (2016)
In the one-mile run at the MPSF Championships clocked a time of 5:10.07…was part of a new school record in the distance medley relay posting a time of 12:07.48 at the MPSF Championships…also clocked a time of 12:16.73 in the distance medley relay at the UW Invitational.
CROSS COUNTRY FRESHMAN (2015)
Competed in six meets for Cal State Fullerton…saved her best Titan finish for last as the third Fullerton runner to complete the 6k course (167th overall) at the NCAA West Regional in Seattle (11/13)…best overall finish was 35th in a time of 19:36.92 on the 5k course of the season-opening Mark Covert Classic in Brea, Calif. (09/05)…also recorded a top-40 finish at the Rim Rock Classic in Lawrence, Kan., as her time of 22:53.9 was good for 36th place on the 6k course (10/03).
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2015 graduate of California High School in Whittier, Calif…was a four-year member of the varsity track and field squad and a three-year varsity competitor for cross-country…as a sophomore was named MVP of the cross country team and distance runner of the year for track…as a junior was part of the 4x1600-meter school record holding team…as a senior earned MVP honors for both track and cross-country, and became the 1600-meter school record holder as well as set a new school record at Mt. SAC meet… personal bests include: 3-miles (18:27), 3,200-meters (11:40), 1,600-meters (5:02), 800-meters (2:21)...three-year member of the honor roll.

From Whittier, Calif…parents are Ignacio and Mina Cortez…major is Health Science…hobbies or interests include going to the beach or Disneyland…favorites include: Big Bear (place to run), Angels, Oregon Project (athletic team), Brenda Martinez (athlete), The Little Mermaid and Peter Pan (movies), Imagine Dragons and Coldplay (musical artists), ice cream and pizza (food).
