EUGENE, Ore. – Cal State Fullerton was represented at the NCAA Track and Field Championships on Wednesday in Eugene, Ore. The men's 4x100-meter relay competed and took 21st place overall in the event to earn honorable mention All-America accolades.

The Titans, who were represented in the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2011, clocked a time of 40.10 to take eighth place in heat two and 21st overall. The quartet of Luis Matos, Thaddeus Smith III, Rasaun House and Marcel Espinoza posted their second-best time of the year. The last time the Titans sent a men's 4x100-meter relay team to the NCAA Championships was in 2003.

Although they dealt with injuries throughout the year, it was a special year for this quartet of student-athletes. They won the Big West Championship in the event, marking the third straight year Fullerton has won the conference title in the 4x1 and helped guide CSF to a men's team conference title for the second straight year. Furthermore, the quartet clocked a school-record time of 39.86 at the NCAA West Preliminaries to earn their spot in the semifinals in Eugene.
