FULLERTON, Calif. - The men's and women's outdoor track and field team will be sending three Titans to compete in the Big West Combined Events Championships this Friday and Saturday at Long Beach State.
Ifunanya Gwacham will be the lone representative in the heptathlon while Zach Munoz and Jake Ostgaard represent the Titans in the decathlon.
The Big West Championships will be held at the newly renovated Jack Rose Track at Long Beach State beginning Friday afternoon.
The heptathlon will kick off the weekend with the 100m hurdles beginning at 1 p.m. with the high jump, shot put and 200m dash to follow shortly after.
The decathlon will begin at 1:30 p.m. beginning with the 110m hurdles, followed by the long jump, shot put, high jump and 400m after.
The meet will resume on Saturday beginning with the final five events of the decathlon beginning at 11 a.m. with the 110m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1,500m run.
Lastly, the heptathlon will wrap up beginning at 1 p.m. starting with the long jump, followed by the javelin and ending with the 800m run.
All three Titans have competed in one heptathlon/decathlon so far this season at the UCR Spring Classic. Gwacham finished 6th overall with 4,522 points while Ostgaard and Munoz finished 5th and 10th with 6,002 points and 5,507 points, respectively.
