FULLERTON, Calif. - The men's and women's outdoor track and field team head to Los Angeles to compete in the UCLA Legends Invitational this weekend.

The two-day meet will begin with the UCLA Legends Distance Carnival and field events, while Saturday will consist of all of the track events.

The squad returns to the track after seeing a lot of personal successes last weekend at the UCR Spring Classic Invitational.

LAST TIME ON THE TRACK
Two Titans took home first place finishes with Eli Penick in the 100m with his time of 10.59, placing him 2nd in the Big West while also placing 2nd in the 200m, right behind teammate Darion Zimmerman.

Zimmerman was the other half to the first place finishes taking the field in the 200m dash with his time of 21.68 and while also finishing in 5th place in the 100m.

Three Titans participated in the heptathlon/decathlon with all three Titans earning top 10 finishes.

For the heptathlon, Ifunanya Gwacham had a huge performance personally as she not only set a new personal record in overall points improving from 3,951 to 4,522; she also set new personal records in all seven events. Her overall finish of 4,522 points finished her in 6th out of 19 competitors.

In the decathlon the Titans had two representatives in Jake Ostgaard and Zach Munoz, with Ostgaard finishing in 5th overall and Munoz in 10th overall.

Ostgaard's finish of 6,002 points was a personal record, improving from 5,746 while Munoz finished with 5,507 points overall.

In the throws, two Titans set new personal records with Jalen Morgan throwing 47.27m in the discus, good for an 8th place finish while Edwin Matthews threw a 53.29m in the javelin throw, good for 5th overall.

The women saw strong performances in the 100m and 200m in Alexis Stewart and Jade Lewis with Stewart running personal records in both events.

Stewart ran a 12.00 in the 100m, ranking 5th in the Big West, while also running 24.83 in the 200m.

Lewis also had a great showing in both events, running a 12.06 in the 100m and a 24.78 in the 200m.
