RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton track and field team was led by freshman Tyler Hardge who captured the conference title in the women's 400-meter hurdles, while junior Joshua Gordon broke a pair of school records on the men's side to round out competition at the Big West Championships at UC Riverside Track Facility on Saturday.

Following Fullerton's Steven Williams' individual title in the men's high jump on Friday, Hardge carried over her top qualifying time in the prelims to post a blistering 60.14 sec. in the 400-meter hurdles to bring home another title for the women. Hardge also placed third in the 100-meter hurdles to land herself on the all-conference squad.

Gordon rewrote the Titan record books in the 400-meter dash with a mark of 46.90 sec. which was good for third-place, while a 21.19 sec. tally and fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash proved to make another school record fall.

Overall, the men's contingency improved by two slots in the team competition from last season, increasing its total by 22.5 points in the 2015 event.

In the men's 100-meter hurdles event, CSF freshman Mason Guzman-Sanchez crossed the line in a personal best of 14.78 sec. while junior Nick Reynolds was not far behind in 14.85 sec. as the duo finished in fifth and sixth-place, respectively. Reynolds also completed the 400-meter hurdles in 52.79 sec., which chalked up another personal fastest time in seventh position.

Cal State Fullerton senior Janaya Shorty set the tone in the women's 100-meter dash as her time of 11.96 sec. was good for third. Shorty transitioned nicely to the 200-meter event in which she turned in a sixth-place finish (23.99 sec.) to join Hardge on the all-conference team. In the women's high jump, Titan sophomore Ty'Jalayah Robertson finished sixth after clearing a height of 1.71 meters.

The Titan men's relay team of Gordon, sophomore Chaz Harmon, and seniors Taylor Ros and Nick Sole performed admirably in the 4x400m event, turning in a season-best mark of 3:12.03 sec. to cross the line in second-place. CSF senior Daniel Walker placed sixth in the men's javelin with his second-best throw of the season with a distance of 60.60 meters.
