IRVINE, Calif.— Junior Katie Wilson and sophomore Walter Whitaker each garnered Big West Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors after their superb performances at the OXY Invitational last weekend.

Wilson earned Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Week, thanks to her performance in the 400-meter dash over the weekend. She posted a season-best time of 54.59 and placed sixth in the event. Her time now ranks as the second fastest in the Big West and 58th in the NCAA West Region.

She also helped guide the women's 4x100 relay team to a time of 46.29 and a second place finish over the weekend.

Whitaker nabbed the Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week award, as he recorded a personal best 49-04.25 (15.04m) and finished fifth in the triple jump over the weekend. The leap is ranked third in the conference and 41st in the NCAA West Region.

Wilson and Whitaker join Javon May as the select Titans to win Big West Athlete of the Week honors this year.

All three will be competing for the Titans at the Big West Track and Field Championships in Northridge, Calif. this Friday and Saturday.
