FULLERTON, Calif.— The Cal State Fullerton track and field team heads to UC Irvine to compete in the 21st annual Big West Challenge Cup this Friday at Anteater Stadium.

Long Beach State, UC Santa Barbara, and host UC Irvine will join the Titans, as the four schools will compete in the annual meet starting with the field events at 2:00 p.m. and the track events at 6:00 p.m. The day will wrap up with the women's 4x400 relay at approximately 8:55 p.m.

Javon May looks to build on his personal best time of 52.53 in the 400-meter hurdles last weekend, as he'll once again compete in the 400-meter hurdles, as well as the 4x100 and 4x400 men's relays.

Bryan Luther also gets back to work, as he'll compete in both the 100 and 200-meter dash, as well as take part in the 4x100 and 4x400 men's relays. Luther currently ranks third and fourth in the Big West in the 100 and 200-meter relays respectively.

Katie Wilson looks to improve on her time of 55.16 in the 400-meter, which currently ranks fourth in the conference, while Ashley Sims aims to vault herself atop of 100-meter and 200-meter leaderboards, as her times of 11.76 and 24.19 currently rank third and fourth in the league respectively.

Both Wilson and Sims will also anchor the women's 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams.

Kara Kalmar (11'10.5") and Shawn McNany (16'0.75") should be a strong point for the Titans on the field side, as both currently rank sixth and fifth in the league respectively in the pole vault.

Walter Whitaker is competing in the high jump, long jump, and the triple jump. His best leap of 48'11" is currently good for third in the Big West.
