Gavin graduated (2009) from Wilson High School in Long Beach where he competed in the 200, 400, 110 hurdles, 300 intermediate hurdles, 4x200 and 4x400 relays... won Most Promising Athlete of the Year Award for 2007 and 2008 and track and field MVP honors for 2009... graduated with a gpa of better than 3.0... earned more than 70 service learning hours, some of them working in New Orleans helping to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.

was born on Sept. 2, 1991, in Long Beach, California... parents are Donald Christain Jacobs and Alice Couvrey... is an only child "with a very loving and supporting family"... works at the UA Marketplace cinema complex in Long Beach and is learning the roofing trade from his father... loves swimming and bodyboarding during the summer... is taking up salsa dancing.
