MPSF Recognizes 11 Titan Indoor Track and Field Athletes on All-Academic Team

FULLERTON, Calif. — Eleven Titan men's and women's indoor track and field athletes were named to the 2023 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Teams. 

Women's Honorees

Ashley Harritt, Alero Soaris, Amira Hawkins, McKaylie Caesar, Amir'a Edmond, Kyliegh Wilkerson and Teresa Chang were among the MPSF Women's Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Honorees. Harritt finished ninth in the pole vault at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate with a season-best mark of 3.70m. Soaris ran a season-best time of 58.15 in the 400m at the MPSF Championships to finish eighth. 

Hawkins finished fifth at the MPSF Championships in the 60m hurdles, running an 8.83. Caesar took home the silver medal at the conference championships in the mile, clocking a time of 4:49.73. She also finished fourth at the meet in the 3000m with a time of 9:44.79. Edmond finished 23rd in the 60m at the MPSF Championships with a time of 7.95. 

Wilkerson notched top-15 finishes at the conference championships in both the shot put and weight throw. Chang finished seventh in the shot put at the meet with a personal-best mark of 13.77m. 

Men's Honorees

Daniel Palacio, Joshua Tan, Justin Lowe and Sean Ayale were each honored for their academic and competition prowess by the MPSF. Palacio, a junior pole vaulter, finished second in the men's pole vault at the 2023 MPSF Championships with a season-best mark of 5.05m. Tan tallied top-10 marks at the MPSF Championships in both the shot put and weight throw. 

Lowe won the 400m at the UW Preview with a time of 47.72 while also running as part of the winning 4x400m team at the event, which finished with a time of 3:14.13. He finished third in the 200m at the MPSF Championships, running a 21.29, and finished second in the 400m with a time of 47.39. Ayale finished 10th in the triple jump at the MPSF Championships and 11th in the long jump at the meet. 

The Titans compete at the 2023 Challenge Cup Classic hosted by UC Santa Barbara Friday, April 7th.
