SPOKANE, Wash. – The Titans wrap up day one of competition at The Podium with multiple highlights, beginning with Daniel Palacio setting a new personal best not once, but twice in the men's pole vault as he went on to win the event after a clearance of 5.05m. Teammates Ernesto Collazo (4.90m) and Samuel Heinrichs (4.80m) finish second and third, completing the clean sweep of the men's pole vault competition.

Reyte Rash ran a new personal best of 8.28 in the men's open 60mH to win the event, while Matt Cohen finished second overall after running a new personal best of 8.35. Mt. SAC transfer Andrew Aguilar finished fourth overall with a time of 8.53, just missing his personal best by 0.01 second. In the women's 60mH, Amira Hawkins advanced out of the preliminaries and ran 8.91 in the finals to finish fifth overall.

Justin Lowe finished third overall in the men's open 200m after running a time of 21.76. Rasaun House would finish third in the men's 60m with a time of 6.92. Cameron Willis had a third place finish in the men's long jump after a leap of 6.95m.

The Titans 4x400 relay teams did not disappoint, as the women's team made up of Kirstin Light, Maya Occiano, Alero Soaris, and Lauren Delgadillo dominated the field by running 3:52.92. The men's team, made up of Reyte Rash, Chris Shiley, Justin Lowe, and Charles Kelly, followed suit by stepping onto the track to produce a similar performance of winning the 4x400 in a time 3:15.53 and set a new stadium record at The Podium.

The women's Distance Medley Relay (DMR) 'A' team rounded out the night with an unprecedented victory over the rest of the field. Made up of Alyssa Block, Lauren Delgadillo, Dana McGrath, and Trinity Ruelas, the Titans clocked in a finishing time of 11:52.95, a full 21 seconds ahead of second place finisher Nevada. This time currently stands as the stadium record at The Podium, making the second stadium record earned by the Titans on day one of competition.

"This meet was a huge learning lesson for our team. There were some ups and down. Overall, they learned a lesson today and that's how you get better. Proud of Delgadillo for running three 400s today and saying she felt great and could run more. Proud of Daniel breaking is personal record twice on pole vault, he works very hard and deserves it. Reyte is performing well and setting a new pr in the 60mH and Matt setting a new pr as well. The 200m group is learning how to run on a banked track and Jumps performing well after coming off a heavy week. Really proud of our freshman Mia Bergman — she's the type to really just go for it and that's what she did today. Thankful for Nick our athletic trainer who keeps our athletes ready and able to compete " - Head Coach Marques Barosso
