Women's TF Records Five Personal Bests

Albuquerque, N.M. - The Cal State Fullerton women's indoor track and field team wrapped up the Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational on Saturday, the first meet of the 2020 indoor season. Fullerton recorded five personal bests on the day at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The meet was hosted by the University of New Mexico. The Titans competed against the nation's best at this meet, including the likes of perennial powerhouses in USC, LSU and Texas, to name a few, and also some of the best professionals.

Freshman Amir'a Edmond was the top finisher for CSF 60-meter dash with a time of 7.85 (15th place) in the preliminary round while sophomore Hailey Murdica clocked a time of 7.90 (18th place). Junior Lauren Delgadillo (8.00), sophomore Chudney McGehee (8.09) and junior Ryann Mojica (8.44, personal best) ran as well.

Sophomore Karyn Best clocked a personal-best time of 8.95 in the 60-meter hurdles to take 13th place overall. Ku'ulei Moku posted a personal-best time of 9.12 in the same event, good for 17th place.

The quartet of freshman Deja Allain, Moku, Delgadillo and senior Mia Franco clocked a 4x400-meter relay time of 3:56.03 to take 10th place overall.

Junior Jelani Minix posted a personal-best mark of 37-6.5 (11.44m) in the triple jump to take eighth place in the event. Mojica recorded a personal best in the event as well, going 36-9.5 (11.21m) in 13th place. Junior Mariah Lark cleared 11-9.75 (3.60m) in the pole vault, good for 14th place overall and the second-best clearance of her indoor career.

Junior Sinai Fatafehi's toss of 36-5.5 (11.11m) was good for 18th place in the shot put. Freshman Kyleigh Wilkerson (35-1.75, 10.71m), sophomore Bertha Sola (33-10.25, 10.32m), freshman Teresa Chang (32-9, 9.98m) and freshman Evalen Garcia (foul) also competed in the event.

Next up, the Titans will compete in both the UW Invitational in Seattle and the CU Invitational in Boulder on Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
