The Titans best finish of the day came thanks to senior Amanda Mercado's personal-best 16.99 meter weight throw.  Mercado only finished behind Vanessa Levy of Grand Canyon with a throw of 17.43m. 

The weight throw was a bright spot for the Titans on Saturday, as Mercado, Alexandra Kemp and Jessica Flores all set new personal best's.  Mercado set the bar with her second-place finish, but close behind was Kemp with a throw of 16.20m that was good for seventh-place overall and Flores with a throw of 15.73, which was good for 11^th-place.

Cal State Fullerton and Fresno State were the only two schools to have three student-athletes finish in the top-11 overall in the weight throw competition.

Ty'Jalayah Robertson was another standout athlete for Fullerton on Saturday, finishing third place overall in the triple jump with a distance of 38'6".  Robertson enjoyed a great day in the jumping competitions as she finished 13^th-place overall in the high jump as well with a jump of J1.64m.

Three Titans made their collegiate debuts on Saturday in New Mexico; Tyler Hardge ran her first 60m hurdles and finished with a solid time of 8.91.  Freshman Laura Hamann competed in the 60-meter dash and finished with a time of 8.18.  She also earned the best finish of the meet for Fullerton in the long jump with 5.08m and leaped 10.40m in the triple jump.

Janaya Shorty was scheduled to compete in the 200m but could not compete due to an ankle injury.

"A very positive start to the indoor season, said head coach John Elders. "The girls competed really well, and we have lots of good stuff to build on."

The Titans are back on the track next weekend on Friday and Saturday when they travel to Seattle, Wash. to take part in the UW Invitational.
