Three Titans Earn MPSF All-Academic Honors

FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton women's track and field team had multiple student-athletes named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) All-Academic team for the 2014 indoor season, it was announced by MPSF Executive Director Al Beaird.

Senior Katie Wilson (3.58), sophomore Alexandria Stewart (3.29), and senior Ashley Sims (3.14) were all named to the academic team for their success in the classroom. Wilson, an Ontario, Calif., native had six top-four finishes during the indoor season, as she competed in the 200m, 400m, and 4x400m relays.

Stewart, a sophomore sprinter and long jumper, placed sixth at the Boise State Team Challenge with a time of 7.84 in the 60-meter dash, while Sims finished with 10 top-four finishes as she competed in the 60m, 200m, and 4x400m relay team. The senior sprinter had one of her best results when she finished third at the Boise State Team challenge with a time 7.66.

In order to make the list, the student-athlete must have a 3.00 GPA or better. The student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically. The student-athlete must have competed in 50 percent or more of the institution's competitions for that season.
