Bravo Breaks School Record at Husky Classic

SEATTLE—In just her second ever Track and Field event, Lexie Bravo shined for the Titans, running a school record-setting 18:02.99 in the 5000-meter over the weekend at the Husky Classic at Dempsey Indoor.

Katie Wilson also had herself a weekend, placing fifth in the 400-meter finals, recording a personal indoor best 55.61. Jasmyne Davis also had a huge day Saturday, setting a personal best and finishing fourth in the in the triple-jump finals (39-00.25).

 

Amanda Mercado rounded out Cal State Fullerton's top performers, as she recorded a personal best and placed 41st in the women's weight throw (41-01.50).

 

"Overall it was a solid weekend for us," said head coach John Elders. "I'm really proud of how the women competed this weekend. This was really the first time everyone has been together this season, so it was fun to see."

 

Fullerton now shifts its focus to the Run for the Dream meet in Fresno, California on Feb. 17. The meet will be the team's final competition before the outdoor track and field season gets under way on March 1 vs. Cal Poly Pomona.
