Gilstrap Named Senior Development Director

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton Athletics Director Jim Donovan announced on Monday that Jeff Gilstrap, a Cal State Fullerton alumnus, has been hired as the Senior Development Director.

"We are very excited to welcome Jeff to the Titans Athletics Family," Donovan said. "He knows what it means to be a Titan as both a student and employee. We are thrilled to add him and his years of experience in development to our team."

Gilstrap previously worked as the Manager of Donor Relations at the Orangewood Foundation for three years and the Manager of Auxiliary Services eight years prior. His primary responsibility was major gift fundraising and he also managed a portfolio of 100 major donor relationships and 25 emerging prospects. Donors and prospects include individuals, corporations and foundations.

Prior to that, Gilstrap was at Cal State Fullerton as the Assistant Director of Annual Campaigns from 2004-2010. He managed a successful Phonathon program that raised over $600,000 in three years. He collaborated on "It's Our University" annual campaign for faculty, staff and emeriti with the goal of increasing annual giving. He designed training manuals and wrote scripts to further the telemarketing effort. Gilstrap also developed the Titan Fund website: https://give.fullerton.edu/titanathletics to allow donors to pay their pledge on-line and act as a recruiting tool for future student employees.

From 2001 to 2004, Gilstrap was the Development Assistant at Cal State Fullerton where he provided clerical and administrative support to the Development area of University Advancement.

He graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science in Child and Adolescent Studies.
