The Tuffys: And the Winner of Best Coaching Performance is...

The Tuffys are the first Cal State Fullerton Athletics social media award show, celebrating the athletics achievements our student-athletes during the 2019-20 academic year. The winners will be decided via fan vote on Twitter.

Every week for the next eight weeks, we will announce the nominees of an award on Tuesday morning with the poll open on Twitter for 48 hours, then we will announce the winner on Thursday. We will follow the same format later in the week, announcing the nominees on Saturday morning and then the winner of the award on Monday morning.

The nominees for Best Coaching Performance were:

Ashley Preston - Women's Volleyball - Named Co-Big West Coach of the Year, led to a 12-15 overall record, doubling her win total from last season and the .444 winning percentage makes it the best season for the program since 2012.

 

Jeff Harada - Women's Basketball - Led team to first winning season since 1990-91, advanced to quarterfinals of Big West Tournament

John Elders - Cross Country/Track & Field - Named Big West Women's XC Coach of the Year. Led the women's cross country team to the first Big West Championship in program history. In the same meet, the men earned a runner-up finish.

Demian Brown - Women's Soccer - Led the team to Big West regular season and tournament titles. The squad took a school-record 16-match unbeaten streak into the NCAA Tournament.
