Titans Family, Supporters, and Friends of Titans Athletics:

I hope you and all your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during these challenging times.  This past month has been one of the toughest throughout my college athletics career, and undoubtedly for all of us with the decision to cancel the remainder of spring's athletics competition.  A decision that was not easily made but one that myself, our Campus President and Vice President, and Athletics Department supported as our number one concern is the health and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches, staff, team personnel, and our fans.  Titans Athletics hurts for our teams, especially our seniors who have been dedicated to competing at the highest level this season, but with the ongoing COVID-19 situation and how it continues to evolve, we needed and are continuing to take all necessary precautions to make sure everyone stays healthy and safe.

These times have created unprecedented economic hardships that have deeply affected us all. Like many other schools and businesses, we are already feeling the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have dealt with revenue loss from this academic year and have had to lay off and/or furlough 16 employees.  We are also preparing to reduce our budget by at least 5% for this upcoming academic year. However, we have continued to honor our scholarship and academic commitments to our student-athletes and are working to protect our commitment to our full-time employees. As a department, we also support the extension of eligibility for student-athletes in spring sports and are very happy that those student-athletes can end their collegiate careers in a proper way.

During this pandemic, we know that life has changed drastically for so many, thus we wanted to help those who were receiving prorated refunds for the end of a short season in the best way for them and their families.  We thank all our friends of our programs and season ticket holders who donated their prorated refunds from the season to Titans Athletics.  We are encouraged by our fans and their pride of Titans Athletics who credited their prorated refund to the 2020-21 season.

Titans Athletics is committed to staying connected and engaged as we continue to support our student-athletes while they continue their education and training remotely.  Our Athletics Staff, along with our Campus are working day-in and day-out to provide our student-athletes with imperative academic, medical, mental health, nutrition, and strength and conditioning resources.  In this current space of what our "new-normal" has become it has strengthened our athletics department's unity and resolved to continue to meet each challenge head on, adapting and supporting each other while maintaining day-to-day operations.

Titans Athletics remains dedicated to living the Titan Way and providing the very best student-athlete experience.  We are steadfast in continuing to be an important part of Cal State Fullerton and the Orange County Community.  On behalf of all of us in the Athletics Department and our campus, we thank you for standing with us during these unprecedented times as we move forward as one (Titans).  We are all in this together and we look forward to getting back on our playing fields, courts, and track and welcoming our fans back in the stands when the time is right. Stay Healthy, Safe and Go Titans!

Tusks Up,
