The Tuffys: And the Winner of Freshman Male Athlete of the Year is...

The Tuffys are the first Cal State Fullerton Athletics social media award show, celebrating the athletics achievements our student-athletes during the 2019-20 academic year. The winners will be decided via fan vote on Twitter.

Every week for the next eight weeks, we will announce the nominees of an award on Tuesday morning with the poll open on Twitter for 48 hours, then we will announce the winner on Thursday. We will follow the same format later in the week, announcing the nominees on Saturday morning and then the winner of the award on Monday morning.

The nominees for Freshman Male Athlete of the Year were:

Sebastian Cruz - Men's Soccer - Scored two goals including one match winner - Dished out four assists

 

Owen Lambe - Men's Soccer - Scored two goals both of which were match winners - Recorded one assist

Vincent Lee - Men's Basketball - Averaged 4.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 28 games played

Miguel Ortiz - Baseball - In 13 games, posted .281 avg/.442 obp/.469 slg with nine hits, including 3 doubles and a home run. Scored nine runs and drove in three.
