Q: Why did you want to be a Titan?

A: I wanted to be a Titan because I felt more culturally in tune with the school. I was deciding between here and [UC] Santa Barbara and I just felt like there were more people around my area from here. I also, transferred from a JC [junior college] and there were a lot of people from Mt. Sac, which is where I came from, so I felt like I already had friends on the team. I heard great things about [Assistant Coach Alex] Tebbe and one of my old teammates told me he was a good coach so that is one of the reasons I came here.

Q: What is your routine before a meet?

A: I don't have a routine at all. I just do whatever I want. I don't really believe in having a routine because some people are so mental constricted to a routine, if something goes wrong they start thinking negatively. Since life is so unexpected, it's better to just not have one and go with the flow.

Q: How does it feel to make program history as a member of the Women's Cross Country team, winning their first ever Big West Conference Championship and now getting to compete in the NCAAs?

A: It's exciting! When I was younger, in High School, all i ever wanted was to win a cross country championship.  So it feels good. But at the same time I am not surprised that we won because we had talked about it from day one and our mindset was to win and to come with nothing less. It feels good to know that your goal in the beginning of season is to win and to come out and win. Now we have even higher expectations of ourselves. Going into Regionals I know we can accomplish a lot more, especially with having a team mindset of being so positive, helps a lot.
