| Position: | Learning Specialist |
Amber M. Perez is a first-generation high school and college graduate, and community college transfer, born and raised in the barrio city of Hawaiian Gardens in Southern California. She serves student-athletes as a Learning Specialist in CSUF Athletic Academic Services and was hired in the fall of 2019.
As a student within every system of higher education (CCC, CSU, UC, and private college), she earned a B.S. in Sociology (UC Riverside), M.S. in Counseling (Loma Linda University), and a Counseling Pupil Personnel Services Credential, P.P.S. (Cal State Los Angeles). Amber’s previous professional experiences cover an array of positions across all levels of education, which includes Adjunct Faculty/Counselor for San Diego City College, Counselor for Los Angeles County Office of Education and LACOE High School for the Arts, and Guidance Counselor for the Department of Education, Guam. She is especially enthusiastic to have served and continue to mentor students from all walks of life, especially athletes and those from socially and historically disadvantaged under-represented groups.
