Killeen-Frisone was NCAA Woman of the Year for California and among Ten Finalists for the NCAA National Woman of the Year Award in 1995. She was the first woman to win the 3000 meters, 5000 meters and 10000 meters in the same Big West Conference championships in 1995 and she placed 11th in the 10000 at the NCAA Championships. She earlier had become the first Fullerton female runner to earn Div. I All-American honors in cross country, placing 31st overall and 18th among American citizens (top 25 get honor) in 1994. She also earned academic All-America honors and was CSF's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year in both 1994 and 1995. She made the Dean's list eight of her nine semesters and was selected CSF senior of the year by the Alumni Association. She overcame epilepsy as a youth and at CSF a hip injury, one ovarian cyst and a slight heart murmur. She is a mother and teacher and is married to former Titan distance runner Steve Frisone, who still holds the school record in the 1500 meters with his time of 3:48.98 in 1994.
