After a three-match homestand, Cal State Fullerton (6-14, 1-5 BWC) will hit the road for a quick trip to UC Irvine (7-14, 2-5 BWC) on Thursday followed by a match in Northern California at UC Davis  (9-10, 2-4 BWC) on Saturday. The matches will be the second contests of the season between both the Anteaters and Aggies.

WEEKEND RECAP
Cal State Fullerton's losing streak was extended to a season-long five matches as the Titans were swept by Cal Poly on Friday and suffered a 3-1 loss to UC Santa Barbara on Saturday. During this losing streak, the Titans have won two sets out of 17. Shimen Fayad led the Titans averaging 4.0 kills and 3.71 digs per set

TICKETS
Tickets for all Titans home games can be purchased online at FullertonTitans.com, or at the Cal State Fullerton Athletics Ticket Office, located in the Titan House on campus off of Gymnasium Drive on the northeast side of Titan Gym. Game day sales and will call tickets will open one hour prior to the scheduled time at the specific venue. All Cal State Fullerton students with a school ID get free admission.

UC IRVINE NOTES
• Victoria Dennis leads UC Irvine with a 3.65 kill average, which ranks fourth among Big West players.
• Harlee Kekauoha leads the Anteaters in service aces with 26 and is second in kills (2.44) and fourth in digs (2.15). She has recorded an ace in 15 of 21 matches this season and has had multiple-ace matches seven times.
• Kekuaoha has recorded three triple-doubles this season, making her one of nine players in the nation to record that feat. 
• Shelly Anderson ranks seventh in the Big West in set assists with an 8.34 average. Anderson's 61 set assists versus San Diego State is second and 60 against NAU is third best in the Big West this season. 
• Defensive specialist Arden Davis has 1,168 career digs which ranks seventh in the UCI records books. The senior is seven shy of head coach Ashlie Hain's sixth-place spot (1,175).

UC DAVIS NOTES
• Junior Aima Eichie continues to lead the Big West in hitting at .426 (66-14-122) as the only player better than .400 among those with at least three swings per set.
• Sophomore Lauren Jackson ranks at No. 5 in the league with her .363 clip (71-18-146).
• Sophomore Kelechi Ohiri ranks third among Big West blocks leaders with 1.26 per set.
• As a team, UC Davis sits second in digs at 15.96 per frame.

ABOUT THE TITANS
• Cal State Fullerton (6-14, 1-5 BWC), who was winless in 2015, has secured six victories this season.
• The Titans are currently on five-match losing streak, their longest of the season, winning just two sets in their last 17.
• The Titans ended a 19-match Big West Conference losing streak with a 3-1 victory over UC Riverside on Sept. 24.
• The Titans are often battling from behind with a 4-16 record in the first set this season and a 2-14 mark after a first-set loss.
Summer Kerins ' .318 hitting percentage leads Cal State Fullerton and ranks seventh in the Big West. 
Shimen Fayad's 3.48 kills per set rank sixth in the conference, and her 0.28 service aces per set also rate eighth in the league.
• Fayad leads the Titans with 11 double-doubles.

2016 SEASON HONORS
Career highs in kills and digs from Shimen Fayad helped the Titan volleyball team win its first conference opener in five years and earned her Big West Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honors on Sept. 26. The 6-foot outside hitter tallied 27 kills and 22 digs to spearhead Fullerton to a four-set victory over UC Riverside on Sept. 24. It was Fayad's team-leading ninth double-double of the year. The win over the Highlanders snapped a 19-match Big West Conference losing streak that dated back to Nov. 15, 2014. Fayad, who hit a torrid .390 for the match with just four errors in 59 attempts, became even more productive as the match wore on. She was responsible for 10 of Fullerton's 13 kills, including match point, in the fourth and final set.  She hit .769 in that set.

GAME NOTES
• The Titans' 19-match Big West Conference losing streak was snapped in the 3-1 win over UCR on Sept. 24 which dated back to Nov. 15, 2014, when they captured a 3-0 victory over the Highlanders.
Shimen Fayad's 27 kills against UCR were the most for any Titan in 2016
• Dating back to 1980, Cal State Fullerton is 5-32 in conference opening matches...playing at home in conference openers, the Titans are 4-14…Cal State Fullerton won its first Big West Conference opener since a 3-0 sweep of Cal Poly at Titan Gym on Sept. 23, 2011

ACES WILD
Shimen Fayad had quite a day at the line in the opening weekend as she served up six aces in one match to help Cal State Fullerton defeat Mississippi Valley State. With her half-dozen service aces, Fayad made her way into the Titans' single-match record book as she tied for fourth most aces in a single match. She now leads the team with 16 aces on the year to average 0.32 per set.
