SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton finished off a weekend road trip to Northern California undefeated as they dominated Santa Clara 5-2. Fullerton moves to 8-2 (2-0) for the year as Santa Clara drops to 2-5.

The Titans regained strength over the weekend to pave a two-match win streak once again.

Fullerton started the day with a doubles victory. Danielle Pham and Caisey Lee Emery doubled up against Giannina Ong and Caitlyn Frankel to breeze to a 6-0 victory on the third court. To solidify the doubles point for the Titans, Genevieve Zeidan and Masako Makiba took down Zeina El Tawil and Elvena Gevargiz 6-3.

Luxizi Meng and Jadie Acidera finished shortly after with a 6-1 win of their own over Delaney Nothaft and Nadine Del Carmen. Sarah Nuno and Karla Portalatin's match was stopped at 3-5 against Maddie Pothoff and Katya Tabachnik.

The early lead was of benefit to the Titans going into singles play.

Singles play proved to be a battle between the Titans and Broncos. Fullerton notched the first win on court number six as Masako Makiba pulled off a stellar 6-3, 6-3 win over Del Carmen.

Santa Clara shook things up on court number as Gevargiz defeated Meng 6-1, 6-4. From there, it would become a back and forth battle for the victory.

Fullerton took the advantage in their favor as No. 97 Genevieve Zeidan fought for the win over El Tawil 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 on court number two.

Keeping hope alive for the Broncos was Pothoff who defeated Nuno on court number one, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.

Finally, the Titans clinched the victory on court number five as freshman Caisey Lee Emery showcased her dominance and bested Ong 4-6, 6-0, 6-0.

Karla Portalatin finished off her match against Tabachnik in an impressive 7-6(6), 7-5 win.

Jadie Acidera also nabbed a win for herself as she faced off against Nothaft to pull through with a score of 6-1, 7-5.
