HONOLULU, Hawai'i – The Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team lost a close match to the University of Hawai'i on Saturday at the UH Tennis Complex behind Rainbow Wahine freshman Klara Pribylova's match-clinching singles point in the penultimate matchup.
The Rainbow Wahine took the first three singles matchups of the afternoon at UH Tennis Complex as Nguyen defeated Valenzuela (6-3, 6-2), Viktoria Malova defeated De Leon (6-3, 6-2), and Faltusz was victorious over Emilia Borkowski (6-4, -6-2) in the No. 1, No. 2, No. 5 slots. Pham was the first Titan to break through with a singles point for the Titans against UH as she handled Sarah Gealer 6-2, 6-3. The Titans needed wins from both Kailika Slevcove and Sandford in the final two matches to secure the Big West Conference victory, but could only get one as Slevcove fell to Pribylova (1-6, 7-5, 6-3) and Sandford closed out the match with a hard fought victory over Kostalova (5-7, 6-1, 6-4).
The Titans are back in action at Titan Tennis Complex on Mar. 18 to take on Colorado State starting at 1:30 p.m.
