SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team collected five victories on the second day of the USTA/ITA Southwest Regional Championships on Friday at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.

Playing in the consolation bracket, Megan Sandford advanced to the fourth round after dispatching UC Irvine's Alison Klien, 6-3, 6-4, in the third round.

In addition, Morgan McIntosh also advanced to tomorrow's fourth round action in the consolation bracket after registering a 6-0, 6-1 win over San Diego's Janine Kolita.

In round one of the Lucky Loser Draw, freshmen Alexis Valenzuela advanced by defeating Long Beach State's Holly Reid in three sets, 7-5, 1-6, 10-5.

In doubles play, the team of Camille De Leon and Jessica Pepa moved past the round of 32 after holding off Grand Canyon's team of Priscilla Annoual and Alexandra Petrzalkova, 8-5.

In round one of the Lucky Loser Doubles Draw, Sandford and Valenzuela advanced with an 8-6 win over Eleanor Grossman and Jessica Perez of Loyola Marymount.

The Titans return to action on Saturday at the USTA/ITA Southwest Regional Championships in San Diego.
