FULLERTON, CA - Cal State Fullerton senior Candice Baker was named to the All-Big West Conference First Team at two different positions for the second straight year and joined five other Titans on the all-league honor roll for the 2007 season the conference office announced on Tuesday (May 15).

Baker was named to the first team at both pitcher and utility player joining current Fullerton assistant coach and two-time All-American Gina Oaks in 2002 and 2003 as the only two players to accomplish the feat in back-to-back seasons in the history of the Big West.
Baker finished 17-11 overall with five saves and a 2.10 ERA in the circle while leading the league with 237 strikeouts and holding opponents to a .181 batting average (2nd in the Big West) in 36 appearances this season. When not in the circle, Baker was also a standout shortstop for Fullerton who hit .276 during the regular season with 20 runs scored, nine doubles, a home run, and 17 RBI.
As a pitcher, Baker ranked among the league's top 10 in ERA (6th), opposing batting average (2nd), innings pitched (3rd), strikeouts (1st), batters struck out looking (1st), wins (3rd), saves (1st), appearances (tied for second), and games started (2nd).
She was joined on the first team by junior catcher Kiki Munoz, who is in the midst of her finest offensive season en route to her first career all-conference honor. Munoz is hitting a team-high .335 to go with five home runs and 27 RBI while blistering Big West Conference pitching to the tune of a .510 batting average in 18 games to go with 10 walks, 10 runs scored, two home runs and 13 RBI. She leads the team with 16 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI games
Defensively, Munoz has committed only one error in 372 chances behind the plate this season (.997 fielding percentage), leading the team in both putouts and assists.
Joining the duo is senior outfielder Ashley Van Boxmeer, who was named to the first team for the second straight season. Van Boxmeer finished the regular season hitting .311 with a team-high eight home runs, 35 runs scored, and 20 RBI while also walking a team-high 26 times. She ranks tied for third on the squad with 11 multiple-hit games.
In her first season in a Titans uniform, sophomore Lauren Lupinetti was named to the all-conference second team after hitting .302 in the regular season with seven home runs and 27 RBI. She is one of three players who have started all 54 games for the Titans this season and her 12 multi-hit games are good for second on the squad.
Lupinetti has also been hit by a pitch a league-high 15 times this season, placing her in a tie for fourth on the school's single-season list and sixth on the school's career charts.
Fullerton also landed a pair of players on the honorable mention squad in senior pitcher Brooke Weekley and junior pitcher/infielder Jessica Doucette.
Weekley finished the regular season 9-4 overall with a team-best 1.70 ERA and a .233 batting average against. She ranked among the Big West Conference's best in ERA (3rd), opposing batting average (6th), wins (tied for 8th), and saves (tied for second).
In conference games, Weekley was even more impressive, posting a 4-1 record against Big West foes with a 1.42 ERA in nine appearances.
Doucette was a dual threat in her first season as a Titan after transferring from the University of Georgia, hitting .268 with eight home runs and a team-high 30 RBI. She also scored 33 runs on the season (tied for sixth in the Big West) and ranked third in the conference with 15 doubles.
In the circle, Doucette was equally as effective, posting an 8-5 record with a 2.40 ERA and 74 strikeouts. Opponents hit just .221 against her during the regular season (which ranked fourth in the league) and she ranked among the league's top 10 in ERA (9th), strikeouts (7th), and batters struck out looking (7th).
