CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton (9-6) fell in game one to No. 4 Oklahoma (11-2) in five innings, 9-1, and lost a close one, 2-1, to California (9-7).

Taylor Dockins got the start against the Sooners suffering the loss as she threw two innings allowing three runs on five hits. Janelle Rodriguez would come in for relief going two innings as well allowing three unearned runs on two hits. Mia Marinakis would finish out the game only recording two outs before allowing three runs before the run-rule came into effect.

Offensively, Fullerton could not get anything going against the Sooner pitching as Rodriguez went 1-1 with an RBI and a walk while Deshea Hill went 1-2 with a single. Those were the only Titan two hits of the contest.

After a scoreless first for both sides, OU got on the board first plating three runs in the bottom of the second courtesy of a solo home run and two-run double.

Fullerton responded in the fourth as Hill lined a single into left field followed by an RBI double to right-center from Rodriguez. Unfortunately, that would be the only run CSF would bring across.

The Sooners would add three more in the fourth and three more in the fifth leading to a 1-9 run-rule loss for Fullerton.

After a break between games, Fullerton was back on the field to face the Cal Golden Bears.

Dani Martinez got the start for game two and had a good outing going four innings allowing two runs on three hits while striking out five. Sophie Frost came in and finished the game throwing three shutout innings only surrendering a pair of hits.

The Titan offense struggled again only recording four hits from just two hitters. Julia Valenzuela went 2-3 with a double and an RBI while Sam Kennedy went 2-3 with a run scored. Alexa Neil and Janelle Rodriguez each drew walks in the game.

It was a pitcher's duel for the first three innings as each team only recorded just one hit until the fourth. In the top half, Cal struck for two on a two-run home run off Martinez.

Fullerton would get on the board after Kennedy recorded a single back up the middle and Valenzuela laced a double into right-center to bring in the lone Titan run.

The Titans next game action is Monday as they face the Japan National Team in an exhibition game at Anderson Family Field. First pitch will be at 6:00 p.m.
