Provo, Utah – Cal State Fullerton (2-0-1) remains undefeated as Samantha Koemans recorded goal number two of the season that finalized the match to a 1-1 draw in double overtime on Friday Night against No. 17 Brigham Young University (0-1-2) at South Field.
BYU's Avery Walker netted the first goal of the match in the 26th minute with the assist from Elise Flake.
Shortly after Koemans booted a shot into the top right corner from the left corner of the box in the 30th minute.
"This was an outstanding match for our program. To come to Provo and play a great group from BYU and dominate the match in many ways was very impressive," said head coach Demian Brown.
Fullerton took control on the field outshooting BYU 17-12. The Titans also dominated in corner kicks Friday night 9-5.
Atlanta Primus and Samantha Koemans led both teams with four shots each for the night. Primus led with three shots being on goal. Haley Brown and Maribell Morales came in next with three shots each.
GK Morgan Bertsch played all 110 minutes recording three saves and one goal scored.
The Titans gained and kept the momentum going through the end of regulation and into the first breath of overtime. Haley Brown shot two back to back in the 73rd and 74th minute putting the pressure on GK Hannah Clark.
Fullerton opened up their first overtime play strong as Primus shot in the 100th minute for an unbelievable save by Clark once again.
Clark recorded five saves Friday night.
BYU has yet to win a game as Fullerton heads to Utah State on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. PT at Chuck & Gloria Bell Field as they look to keep their undefeated streak.
