Edberg Wins for Fourth Time this Season

FRESNO, Calif. --- Senior Martina Edberg recorded her fourth victory this season as she earned medalist honors at the Fresno State Classic Tuesday hosted by Fresno State at San Joaquin Country Club.

Edberg shot an even par round of 72 in the third round to finish with a three-round score of 212 (-4), one shot ahead of UC  Riverside's Jakeishya Le (213, -3). 

The Titans moved up one spot on the leaderboard on Tuesday to place sixth, their best finish of the spring with a three-round score of 907 (+43). Fullerton shot a third round score of 302.

Nevada, who was tied for fourth in the standings after two rounds, shot a final-round score of 290 – the lowest round of the tournament for any team – to overtake Cal Poly, UC Riverside and Fresno State for first place with a three-round score of 27-over-par 891.

The Mustangs (893, +29), Highlanders (893, +29) and host Bulldogs (893, +29) tied for second place and were followed by UC Irvine (898, +34), the Titans, Santa Clara (911, +47), Arkansas Little Rock (913, +49), Sacramento State (915, +51), Cincinnati (919, +55), Boston University (921, +57) and CSU Bakersfield (958, +94).

Sophomore Pauline Welker tied for 34th on the leaderboard after shooting 4-over-par 76 in the third round for a three-round score of 231 (+15).

She was followed by freshman Elsa Lundquist, who shot 7-over-par 79 in the final round for a final total of 233 (+17), which tied for 40th on the leaderboard.

Junior Daniella Uy moved up 11 spots to finish tied for 43rd after shooting 3-over-par 75 in third round – her best round of the tournament. Uy's final three-round score was 234 (+18).

Sophomore Brittney Sok finished 66th on the leaderboard with a three-round score of 242 (+26).

The Titans return to action on Monday at the Sacramento State Invitational held at Sierra View Country Club in Roseville, Calif.
