FRESNO, Calif. --- Senior Martina Edberg leads the field after shooting a two-round score of 4-under-par 140 at the Fresno State Classic held at San Joaquin Country Club on Monday.
The third and final round of play will begin Tuesday morning.
Edberg shot a 71 (-1) in the first round, and followed that performance with a second round score of 3-under-par 69, the lowest round of the day for any of the 72 competitors in the field. UC Riverside's Jakeishya Le is two shots off the pace (142, -2).
As for the Titans, Fullerton is currently in seventh place after recording a two-round score of 29-over-par 605. The Titans struggled in the first round at 312 and sat in 11th place before moving up four spots in the standings with a second-round score of 293.
UC Irvine currently leads the field (596, +20), followed by Cal Poly (598, +22), UC Riverside (600, +24), Nevada (601, +25), Fresno State (601, +25), Arkansas Little Rock (603, +27), the Titans, Cincinnati (606, +30), Santa Clara (613, +37), Sacramento State (613, +37), Boston University (613, +37), and CSU Bakersfield (645, +69).
Freshman Elsa Lundquist rebounded after a first-round score of 81 (+9) to shoot 1-over-par 73 in the second round for a two-round score of 154 (+10), tying for 28th in the standings.
Sophomore Pauline Welker is currently tied for 37th on the leaderboard with a two-round score of 155 (+11) after shooting 7-over-par 79 in the first round and 4-over-par 76 in the second round.
Junior Daniella Uy shot a two-round score of 159 (+15) and is tied for 54th on the leaderboard while sophomore Brittney Sok rounds out Fullerton's team tied for 56th (160, +16).
Edberg totaled seven birdies on the day.
