Edberg Finishes Third, Titans Sixth at Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational

LAKEWOOD, Wash. – Senior Martina Edberg just missed on her third straight victory and Cal State Fullerton logged its second top-10 team finish of the season Tuesday at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational.

Edberg finished third after posting a 1-over 73 on Tuesday, her first round over par this season. She was tied for the lead at 3-under but recorded bogeys on two of her last three holes to finish the tournament with a 1-under 215, two strokes back of medalist Julianne Alvarez of Washington. Ciera Min of Gonzaga finished second at 2-under.

"[Martina] didn't have her best swing today and that cost her a couple of shots," said Titans head coach Pearl Sinn-Bonanni. "But she is still playing at a really high level."

The Titans senior led the field in scoring average on par-4's, averaging a 3.93 stroke average and post a 2-under overall on such holes. She also recorded 39 pars, the second most amongst the 90-player field.

As for the Titans, the team shot a collective 5-over 293 on Tuesday, their best round of the tournament and finished with a 36-over 900, good for sixth place at the 15-team event. Washington claimed the overall team title with a 16-over 880, three strokes better than second-place BYU.

Daniella Uy had her best showing as a Titan on Tuesday, posting a 3-under 69 in the final round, which set a new personal best. Uy finished the tournament with a 7-over 223. She recorded four birdies on the day, tied for the third most in round three. Uy recorded her only bogey of round three on the third-to-last hole she played. She finished tied for 12th place her best finish as a Titan this season and also tied her career-best finish she set in 2014 while playing at Gonzaga.

Freshman Elsa Lundquist also posted a career-best finish as she wrapped the 54-hole event with a 15-over 231 to finish in a tie for 36th place. Lundquist posted a 1-over 73 on Tuesday, the second time she has recorded that score in a single round.

Pauline Welker rounded out the team's scoring after posting a 17-over 233, recording a 6-over 78 on Tuesday. She finished in a tie for 47th. Brittney Sok shot 247 for the tournament and placed 84th.

Competing as an individual, Felicia Medalla finished tied for 56th after posting a 19-over 235. It was her best finish in two tournaments played this season, both as an individual.

Fullerton will wrap up its fall portion of the 2016-17 schedule on Monday as the team heads to the Memphis Women's Intercollegiate.

"We have one more tournament left in the fall and are looking forward to finishing off this season on a high note."
