PULLMAN, Wash. - Senior Martina Edberg tied the second best single-round score in Palouse Ridge Women's Collegiate history to put herself atop the individual leaderboard on day one of the WSU Cougar Cup hosted by Washington State Monday at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Wash.

Edberg posted a 4-under 68 in the second round to place her at 4-under for the tournament and in the lead of the 63-player field. Edberg holds the all-time single round record after she set a career best and Fullerton record with a 7-under 65 in the second round of last year's Cougar Cup.

Edberg finished the opening round with an even-par 72 after posting three birdies and three bogeys in the first 18 holes but then found her groove in the second round. She recorded six birdies in the second round including four straight on holes 10-13. Edberg has now recorded eight rounds in the 60s in her career, the most in school history. She currently leads the WSU Cougar Cup by three strokes over Ashta Madan of Sacramento State, who sits at 1-under after 36 holes. They are the only two players with scores under par with three players tied at even par.

Junior Brittany Farrell set a new personal best 36-hole score as she carded a 1-over 145. She recorded five birdies on the day and sits in a tie for sixth place, five strokes back of her teammate Edberg and is on pace to record her second top-10 finish of her career and in striking distance of her first career top-5 finish.

The two longest tenured Titans helped pace the team to a 9-over 585 through 36 holes. The team sits in sole possession of third place and just three strokes back of day-one leaders Washington State. The Cougars sit atop the standings at 6-over while Idaho is just one stroke back at 7-over.

Sophomore Pauline Welker had a solid showing of her own for the Titans as she posted a 5-over 149 on day one and sits in a tie for 15th place. Freshman Elsa Lundquist rounded out the Titans team scoring in her debut, posting a 7-over 151 on day one.

Junior transfer Daniella Uy finished at 12-over through 36 holes, which puts her in a tie for 45th place. Sophomore Brittney Sok competed as an individual for Fullerton and is currently 60th after posting a 25-over 168.

The Titans will finish the WSU Cougar Cup on Tuesday with a shotgun start slated for 8 a.m.
