WBB Head to Long Beach State; Host UCR on Senior Night for Final Week

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton will play their final week of the the regular season heading to Long Beach State on Thursday and hosting UC Riverside for senior night on Saturday. Tip-off against Thursday will be at 7:00 p.m. at the Pyramid while Saturday will be game one of a doubleheader with the men's team at 4:00 p.m.

Cal State Fullerton (13-14, 5-9 Big West) is coming off of a 1-1 week against UC Irvine and Hawaii. The Titans finished with a win on fan appreciation day against UC Irvine, with a final score of 67-58. Three Titans scored in double digits, as Daeja Smith led with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Smith is currently the leading scorer for the Titans with a total of 357 points this season and 228 rebounds. Raina Perez followed closely with 17 points and six assists, while Amiee Book scored 11 points for Fullerton. Perez remains the second leading scorer, earning a total of 336 points this season. Amiee Book has posted 263 points with 115 rebounds for the Titans. Cal State Fullerton fell to Hawaii with a final score of 55-70 where two Titans scored in double figures, including Daeja Smith who contributed 22 points and six rebounds. Raina Perez came through with 11 points, two rebounds and six assists.

Long Beach State (8-19, 5-9 Big West) is coming off a tough loss last week against UC Davis, finishing with a final score of 49-66. Although three LBSU players reached double figures, they were unable to defeat the UC Davis aggies. Naomi Hunt, the second leading scorer with 294 points and 105 rebounds this season, posted 16 points with five rebounds. Shanaijah Davison, leading the team in points posting 379 this season, scored 14 points with a total of three rebounds. Justina King, with 258 points and 49 rebounds this season, scored 11 points against the Aggies. Long Beach State took a win against Cal State Fullerton earlier in the season with a tight score of 53-59, so Fullerton has a chance to take back the win in their final match up against LBSU. 

UC Riverside (15-13, 9-5 Big West) came off a 1-1 week against Cal State Northridge and UC Santa Barbara. Riverside took a victory against CSUN where three players reached double digits, with a final score of 63-51. Marina Ewodo and Jannon Otto led the team scoring 19 points each, while Malou De Kergret followed closely behind with 10 points. Otto is the leading scorer for the Highlanders with a total of 426 points this season, while Ewodo has posted 321 and is leading the way in rebounds with exactly 200 so far. UC Riverside fell to UC Santa Barbara with a final score of 44-61 where Ewodo led the way with 11 points. Kailanei Cooper also posted double figures, scoring 10 points, but it was not enough to defeat the Gauchos. Cal State Fullerton defeated UC Riverside previous in the season and will be finishing off their season with this final match up on senior night.
