PORTLAND, Ore. – Cal State Fullerton was handed a 74-83 loss after a rough third quarter allowed Portland to put the game out of reach on Saturday afternoon. The Titans shot 57.4% in the first, second, and fourth quarters but a 2-17 performance in the third would lead to their downfall.
Fullerton had four reach double-figures led by Hannah Thompson's 18 points to go along with a team-high nine rebounds. Amiee Book followed her with 13 points on 5-10 shooting. Jade Vega had 11 points and a game-high nine assists. Raina Perez filled out the stat sheet with 11 points, six rebounds, and seven assists.
CSF was hot out of the gate putting up 23 points on 60% shooting from the field and 80% from beyond the arc. Unfortunately, they would cool off in the second heading into halftime trailing by eight. The Pilots took full advantage extending their lead to 18 points as the game in the third quarter and entered the fourth with that lead.
CSF started the fourth a perfect 5-5 from the field including a 7-0 run to open up the quarter.

However, the defense could not stop Portland from answering as the two teams started to go back-and-forth exchanging buckets. Fullerton got the deficit back into single-digits, but would ultimately fall to 2-4 on the season.

Cal State Fullerton is set to host its first ever Double Header at the 2018 Homecoming Event on Saturday, December 1st. Women's Basketball takes on CSU Bakersfield at 2:30pm followed by Men's Basketball taking on Cal Lutheran at 6:00pm. In between the two games fans can take part in the Homecoming pre-game festival.
