FULLERTON, Calif. - The women's basketball team suffered a tough loss on Monday night falling 60-64 to Santa Clara in overtime. It's the Titans' second straight loss as they move to 2-3 on the season.

Hannah Thompson found her groove from beyond the arc with a career-high six three's (on eight attempts) leading the team with 18 points. Amiee Book put up a career-best 17 points on 7-13 shooting to go along with five rebounds. Daeja Smith fell one point shy of a double-double, finishing with nine points and a game-high 13 rebounds and three blocks.
The Broncos had two in double-figures led by Tia Hay's game-high 20 points. Lexie Pritchard put up 10 points off the bench for Santa Clara.
The Fullerton defense was outstanding in the first quarter holding Santa Clara to just two points on 1-10 from the field. Unfortunately, that would not hold as the Broncos would put up 20 points in the second quater as the Titans trailed by one at halftime.
H. Thompson carried the team in the second half with 15 points on a perfect 5-5 from downtown. Her sixth and final three of the game set a career-best for the senior and gave the Titans a three-point lead with a minute left to play.

That would not hold up though as Santa Clara would tie it up and send the game into overtime. The Broncos controlled the extra time from the start and would hold onto the lead. Fullerton had a great look at tying the game as the final seconds ticked off, but the shot rimmed out as the Titans fell 60-64 moving to 2-3 on the young season.
Fullerton is back on action this Saturday as they travel to Portland for a game against the Pilots.

Cal State Fullerton is set to host its first ever Double Header at the 2018 Homecoming Event on Saturday, December 1st. Women's Basketball takes on CSU Bakersfield at 2:30pm followed by Men's Basketball taking on Cal Lutheran at 6:00pm. In between the two games fans can take part in the Homecoming pre-game festival.
