THIS WEEK
Cal State Fullerton concludes the opening weekend of Big West Conference play hosting UC Santa Barbara at Titan Gym with tip-off scheduled for 5 p.m., Saturday. The game is the first of a doubleheader as the Titan men's basketball team hosts CSUN at 7:30 p.m.

TICKETS & PROMOTIONS
Cal State Fullerton students receive free admission to Titan home games with their Titan I.D. card.Fans that buy a ticket to the women's basketball game vs. UCSB get into the men's basketball game vs. CSUN for FREE (General Admission Seating).  
With the purchase of a women's basketball ticket, fans can stay for the men's basketball game and sit in Sections F, G, or H.Tickets for women's basketball vs. UCSB will go on sale at Titan Gym at 4:00pm until 6:00pm.  Men's Basketball tickets will be sold at Titan Gym beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Ticket sales at the Box Office at Titan Gym are CASH ONLY!

GAME NOTES
From 58-41 loss at CSUN (Jan. 5)
Cal State Fullerton is 14-18 in Big West Conference openers…Fullerton is 6-11 in Big West openers played on the road and 1-2 against the Matadors in league openers…CSF leads the all-time series 32-21 but has lost 12 straight to the Matadors…for the first time this season, Cal State Fullerton held a team under 59 points and did not win the game…Fullerton's 41 points scored is its second lowest scoring output of the season…Mia Gallo knocked down the first two three-pointers of her career and scored a career-high six points off the bench.

IN THE BIG WEST AND MORE
• Junior guard Iman Lathan entered the week leading the Big West Conference in scoring, averaging 17.7 points per game. The junior guard has led the Titans in scoring on nine occasions this season. 
• Senior center Dhanyel Johnson entered the week averaging 7.7 rebounds per game to rank third in the Big West.
• Sophomore center Daeja Smith's .568 field goal percentage tops the Big West Conference and her 7.3 rebounds per game rank sixth. In addition, Smith's 1.2 blocks per game rank fifth in the Big West.
Jordan Jackson's average of 1.8 made three-pointers per game ranks sixth in the Big West and Jade Vega's .400 three-point field goal shooting percentage rates third. 
• Cal State Fullerton has two players with offensive rebounding averages ranking in the top 10 of the Big West Conference: Dhanyel Johnson (3.4, 2nd) and Daeja Smith (3.3, 3rd)

KEYS TO VICTORY
• Cal State Fullerton is 3-1 when opponents score 59 points or less and 0-10 when opponents score 60 points or more.
• Fullerton is 3-1 when leading at the half and 0-10 when trailing at the break. 
• Fullerton is 2-0 when five or more players score in double figures.

UC SANTA BARBARA NOTES
• UC Santa Barbara (5-9, 0-1 BWC) suffered a 78-67 loss  at Cal Poly on Thursday in its Big West Conference opener.
• The Gauchos played four like opponents of Cal State Fullerton this season with a win over Pepperdine and losses to San Diego, San Diego State and Loyola Marymount.
• The Gauchos average 59.9 points per game, ranking seventh in the Big West Conference.
• Fullerton last defeated UCSB, 54-50, on Jan. 24, 2015. In that game, then-freshman Daeja Smith scored one point with two rebounds, two assists and one block.

THE RETURNERS
Fullerton returns to the floor with just one starter from last year, 5-foot-5 sophomore guard, Jade Vega. In total, the Titans return only three letterwinners with sophomore guard Lauren Nubla and senior center Dhanyel Johnson back on the floor. 

2017 RECRUITING CLASS
The Cal State Fullerton women's basketball team welcomed four commits to the program as high school seniors Laura Dalton, Xinavane Foreman, Carolyn Gill and Mason VanHouten each signed National Letters of Intent to begin their respective collegiate careers at Fullerton for the 2017-18 season, it was announced by fourth-year head coach Daron Park on Nov. 16.

AWARD SEASON
Junior guard Iman Lathan averaged 23.7 points over three games to earn Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors on Dec. 6.The native of Temecula, Calif., led the Titans in scoring in all three games as they went 2-1 overall. For the week, Lathan averaged 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals in addition to leading the Titans in scoring.  She also got to the free throw line extensively, making 17 of her 27 attempts.

LAST TIME OUT
CSUN, led by Serafina Maulupe's game-high 15 points, outpaced Cal State Fullerton in the second half en route to a 58-41 victory over the Titans on Thursday night at The Matadome in Big West Conference action.The game was the conference opener for both teams as CSUN improves to 8-7 overall and 1-0 in league play, while the Titans fall to 3-11 overall and 0-1 in conference.CSUN opened the second half on an 11-0 run, including draining three 3-pointers, on its way to outscoring Cal State Fullerton 21-8 in the third quarter shooting, 50.0 percent (8-of-16) from the floor as the Matadors built a 20-point, 45-25, lead at the end of the period.The advantage proved insurmountable for the Titans, who were led by Jordan Jackson's 12 points – the only Fullerton player to reach double figures. Fullerton shot a cold 27.9 percent (12-of-43) from the field and totaled just six assists.CSUN shot 36.7 percent (22-of-60) from the field and delivered 19 assists on 22 baskets. The Matadors also shot 45.2 percent (14-of-31) from three-point range, while the Titans drained five baskets from long distance.
