Jared Clark Added to US National Team

July 9, 2008

Haarlem, Netherlands - USA Baseball has announced that Cal State Fullerton first baseman Jared Clark will be added to the US National Team July 11 in Haarlem, Netherlands, replacing Tennessee's Kentrail Davis, who is injured.

Clark becomes the third Fullerton player to join the National Team this year and joins teammates Christian Colon and Josh Fellhauer on the undefeated (11-0) American team.

Clark (6-4, 215, Castaic, Calif.) hit .294 for the Titans in 2008, blasting nine home runs while driving in 53 runners. He also led the team and ranked 19th in the nation with 24 doubles after coming off knee surgery that kept him out of the Titan lineup the entire 2007 season.

A 45th-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Clark, 22, may return for a fifth season in the pinstripes come the fall.

With the addition of Clark on July 11, the Titans will have supplied 20 players to the US National Team and five Olympians to USA Baseball.
