GAME 7: Cal State Fullerton vs. Minnesota

June 8, 2010

FULLERTON, CA -

CAL STATE FULLERTON Dave Serrano
"I'm pretty tired... but my jubilation will overcome my tiredness.

"I knew when I took over this program it had a great tradition... and some pretty high expectations... it's not easy to go to an eighth Super Regional in a row.

"Minnesota - what a good baseball team. They definitely were the best No. 4 seed in the country.

"The resiliency and toughness of this team... the injuries, the ineligibility, losing the first game here, the 7-9 start... but they continued to move on. I couldn't be more proud.

"Tonight is was big ball... shows what this team can do. I give a lot of credit to my assistant coaches. Greg Bergeron has full throttle to run it."

CAL STATE FULLERTON INFIELDER Corey Jones
"I've been seeing the ball well and have stuck to the plan. It's about trusting my coaches and teammates and the information they give me.

On playing UCLA: "It's fun to play someone you're familiar with. They have a good weekend rotation, but we're swinging the bats well. We should be alright."

CAL STATE FULLERTON INFIELDER Christian Colon
On focus away from draft: "I was able to do that. It was a great day, very exciting. It felt different tonight, in a good way... it's hard to explain. It was a great thing to happen to me."

CAL STATE FULLERTON PITCHER Raymond Hernandez
"I give credit to my teammates for allowing me to come back. I was more nervous yesterday than tonight... I was in more of an attack mode tonight.

On not being able to play: "It was hard.... at times I wanted to contribute. And then there were times I knew they didn't need me. My teammates made it a lot easier than what it could have been."

MINNESOTA HEAD COACH JOHN ANDERSON
"It was another well fought game. There was a lot of energy with both teams."

"We made a mistake or mislocation of the ball and they took advantage of it. That's a sign of a good team."

Regarding his team improving: "We asked our guys to be one percent better each day, and they did."

Regarding Fullerton's system: "They have the kids convinced that they have to play this way to be successful and it works."

"Their bullpen the second half of the game was tremendous."

MINNESOTA OUTFIELDER MICHAEL KVASNICKA
"This was a different game than yesterday, we came around offensively."

"Once they got into their niche, they never got out of it. They got in their comfort zone."

"The majority of my focus was on the game tonight."

Regarding the draft:"It hasn't hit home yet since I'm still feeling from the game tonight. I wasn't nervous at the game at all."
