FULLERTON, Calif.--- Cal State Fullerton junior right-handed pitcher Connor Seabold was named to Baseball America's Top 100 College Draft Prospects List, as announced by the publication on Friday.
Baseball America's list breaks down the top college prospects heading into the 2017 college baseball season in regards to their projection in the 2017 MLB First-Year Player Draft in June. Seabold was placed at No. 51 on the list, making him the third-highest ranked Big West player of the group.
The Newport Beach, Calif. native was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 19th Round (571st Overall) of the 2014 First-Year player draft coming out of high school, but decided to stay in school and attend Cal State Fullerton instead.
As a Titan, Seabold has been nothing short of brilliant, including posting a 7-6 record, while compiling a 2.48 ERA with 96 strikeouts in 83.1 innings pitched last season. He ranked second in the nation in strikeout-to-walk ratio in 2016, allowing just nine free passes on the year. He took over as the Titans' "Friday" starter about a month into the 2016 campaign, while eventually earning a spot on the All-Big West Second Team and claiming conference Pitcher of the Week honors on two separate occasions.
Seabold has compiled a 12-10 record to go along with a 2.84 ERA and 172 strikeouts in 152.1 innings of work thus far in his two seasons as a Titan.
