AS A JUNIOR (2014)
Led the team with a 1.37 ERA, allowing four earned runs in 18
appearances out of the bullpen... Struck out 29 batters and allowed
11 walks in 26 and 1/3 innings of work... Had a 1-2 record and
allowed opponents to hit just .161 against him... Earned his only
win of the season on Mar. 18 against UNLV, allowing just two hits
and fanning six in two and 2/3 innings at to preserve a 2-1 victory
Goodwin Field... Went a season-high three and 1/3 innings on Mar.
22 against Long Beach State, allowing one hit and three walks while
striking out five.
SUMMER 2013
In 15 appearances, tossed a total 13 innings for the Santa Barbara
Foresters of the California Collegiate League…finished the
summer with a 0-1 record and 3.46 ERA…struck out 22 while
walking just six.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2013)
Made 24 appearances and one start…completed the year with a
1-0 record, 3.38 ERA and one save…pitched in three combined
shutouts…tossed a total of 29 and 1/3 innings, striking out
39…in Big West games, managed a 1.04 ERA, making 11
appearances and totaling eight and 2/3 innings and striking out
14…at Oral Roberts, in a 6-2 series-clinching win, tossed
one inning of shutout baseball and struck out two to record the
save… was credited with the win after tossing three shutout
innings and striking out four in relief of starter Justin
Garza as the Titans clinched the series with an 8-6 victory at
Long Beach State (03/23)…longest outing was allowing one
unearned run in four and 2/3 innings of relief, striking out a
career-best eight in an 11-inning 8-7 win over Nebraska
(03/19)…struck out the side at Cal State Northridge in the
eighth during the Titans’ series-clinching 6-4 victory
(05/24).
SUMMER 2012
In 25 appearances for the Santa Barbara Foresters (38-15)
of the California Collegiate League, finished the summer with a 3-1
record, one save and 2.25 ERA • Was named a NBC All-American
• In 36 innings, struck out 43 and held opposing batters to a
.127 clip.
AS A FRESHMAN (2012)
Made a significant impact on the Titan pitching staff as
a true freshman • Earned second-team All-Big West Conference
honors and Freshman All-American status from Collegiate Baseball
• Appeared in 18 games, all in relief, fourth most on the
staff • In 26 and 2/3 innings he compiled a 2-4 record with
one save and a 3.71 ERA • He had by far the best
strikeouts-per-inning ratio (1.35) on the staff with 36 while
walking 15 • In five Big West appearances he was 1-1 with a
2.31 ERA with 17 strikeouts in 11 and 2/3 innings • Struck out
season-high eight batters in 3 and 2/3 innings vs. Cal Poly on Apr.
21 but absorbed 8-6 loss • Fanned seven in season-high four
innings vs. UC Riverside on May 19 • Got first win at Texas
A&M on March 10 with 1 and 1/3 scoreless innings during 6-5 win
• Beat UC Davis on Apr. 6 with a perfect one inning in a 5-4
victory • Got his save in a dramatic collegiate debut on Feb.
26 in an 11-10 home win over TCU • Entered game in top of
eighth (final inning due to pre-determined travel constraints) with
tying run on second base and no outs • Got first out on a
rundown play between third and home, the second on a bases-loaded
strikeout and the third when he tagged out a runner trying to score
from third when the ball eluded the catcher • Other
three losses came at USC, vs. Washington State and vs. Austin Peay
in NCAA Regional at Oregon.
HIGH SCHOOL
Was a four-year letterwinner for Head Coach Chris Ashbach
and the Diablos of Mission Viejo High School in Mission Viejo,
Calif. • His four-hit victory over Etiwanda High School at
Dodger Stadium in June 2011 not only won his team the CIF Div. II
championship, but also set a new school record for wins in a Diablo
career (22 victories) • Combined for a 22-14 career record
with a 3.20 ERA; Struck out 206 batters in 211 innings •
His best season came as a senior in 2011 when he went 8-5 with a
2.60 ERA while striking out 82 in 83 innings.
