AS A FRESHMAN (2014)
Made 11 appearances and had one start... Posted a 0-2 record with a
5.30 ERA in 18 and 2/3 innings of work... Tallied 12 strikeouts and
issued seven walks... Made his Titans debut and first career start
at USC on Feb. 18... Pitched three and 2/3 innings at Fresno State
in a 16-inning loss... Struck out a career high four batters at No.
3 Cal Poly on Apr. 17.
SUMMER 2013
Played for the Medford Rogues of the West Coast League
with fellow Titans Christian Coronado and Niko Pacheco, advancing
to the WCL playoffs…was evaluated as the No. 6 prospect in
the league by Perfect Game…on the mound made 11 appearances
and five starts…finished the summer with a 2-1 record and
4.69 ERA… tossed 30 and 2/3 innings and struck out 17.
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2013 graduate of Bonita High School in La Verne,
Calif…played his senior season for head coach John Knott at
Bonita HS and three seasons (2010-12) at Damien High School for
head coach Al Leyva…with Bonita in 2013, helped the Bearcats
to a 25-4-1 record, appearance in the CIF Southern Section Division
III playoffs and Hacienda League championship…was named
first team all-Hacienda League after finishing the year with a 1.40
ERA and five wins on the mound. In 35 innings, recorded 45
strikeouts…played third base during his three seasons at
Damien HS, and was a two-time all-Sierra League second team pick
(2011 & 2012) and three-time Defensive Player of the Year
(2011-13)…during his junior season batted .279 with one home
run and 14 RBIs…as a sophomore batted .416 with six home
runs and 17 RBIs…batted .516 with eight home runs and 26
RBIs during his freshman year…following his senior season
received all-academic honors…also played football at Damien
during his freshman and sophomore seasons.
PERSONAL
Born in Upland, Calif…parents are John Hockin and Erin
Killebrew…has three older brothers (John, Robert, Garrett)
and one younger brother (Grant)…major is
communications…grandfather Harmon Clayton Killebrew (June
29, 1936 - May 17, 2011), was signed by the Washington Senators in
1954 at the age of 17. During his 22-year career in Major League
Baseball, was named an American League All-Star 13 times, the 1969
American League Most Valuable Player and a six-time American League
home run leader. In 1984, Killebrew joined baseball’s
immortals with his election into the Hall of Fame…uncle Cam
Killebrew was drafted by Texas Rangers in the 25th round
of the 1978 Major League Draft and spent three years in
professional baseball…has volunteered with Miracle Fields, a
charity his grandfather started…models his game after his
grandfather and writes “HK3” on the mound before every
outing…enjoys golfing, snowboarding, mountain biking and
fishing…favorites include: Kyle Lohse, Jeff Locke (baseball
players), Target Field (baseball stadium), Harmon Killebrew
(athlete), Mac Miller (musical artist), Minnesota Twins (baseball
team), “61” (movie), “Cat in the Hat”
(book), Charlie Sheen (actor), sushi (food).
